Resource Hub for Development hosted a four-day training program from 27-30 November 2023. The training focused on enhancing the capacity of individuals and local communities in ensuring child protection as a key theme of Community and Youth Development (CYSD).
Day 1 of the training program introduced the concept of child protection and its vital role in community development. Participants had the opportunity to network and explore potential collaborations with other attendees.
Day 2 delved deeper into developing effective child protection policies and procedures tailored to the CYSD project. Interactive workshops and role-playing exercises helped participants gain hands-on experience in the practical steps involved.
Day 3 involved field visits to local communities where participants observed child protection initiatives and challenges, engaged with community members, and analyzed real-life case studies. Group discussions and case study presentations encouraged shared insights and best practices.
Day 4 focused on building robust child protection networks by identifying and involving key stakeholders, fostering collaboration, and networking for effective child protection. The program concluded with the development of actionable plans, goal setting, and a closing ceremony featuring certificates of completion.
Overall, the Child Protection Training Program provided an immersive learning experience with engaging icebreaker activities and detailed training materials. Daily evaluations were conducted to ensure continuous improvement by the participants. Together, the participants equipped themselves with the knowledge and skills needed to make a long-lasting impact on child protection within the CYSD project and their communities.
