In Ghana, 3-days workshop and a set of activities related to the Millennium Development Goals were organised, as part of CYSD. In addition, Sedarvp Ghana, on the 6th of December hosted a Youth Engagement conference for students at Bishop Junior High School in Tamale. This event which forms part of the CYSD project, brought together young people for meaningful discussions on building inclusive societies and embracing diversity.

Day 1 of CYSD local workshop in Ghana was marked by energetic icebreaker activities, setting a positive tone for the days ahead. The morning session featured a dynamic ball-throwing exercise, fostering teamwork, followed by a creative “Name Mentioning with Actions” activity, enhancing group cohesion. The lively start ensured participants were connected and engaged right from the beginning.
In the afternoon, participants were introduced the project it objectives and the partners involved in the project. Afterwards, participants were taken through a diversity awareness games and presentations. Engaging games prompted insightful discussions, paving the way for a deeper understanding of diverse perspectives. A dedicated presentation highlighted the importance of embracing diversity, shedding light on its positive impact on teamwork and innovation. Participants left the diversity session with heightened awareness and a commitment to fostering an inclusive environment.
The day concluded with a reflective closing ceremony, summarizing key takeaways and inspiring participants for the upcoming sessions. The combination of icebreakers, diversity activities, and the closing ceremony laid a solid foundation for a workshop that promises both professional growth and personal enrichment through meaningful connections. Participants eagerly anticipate the continued exploration of diverse topics in the days to come.

Day 2 commenced with a warm welcome and an insightful presentation on Cultural Diversity. The resource person shared valuable perspectives, aiming to enhance participants’ understanding of different cultures. Participants then engaged in group discussions, exploring similarities and differences between tribes. This interactive session facilitated collaboration and diverse insights, enriching the overall learning experience. After a refreshing coffee break, the focus shifted to the Importance of Building Strong Social Relationships. The presentation emphasized the significance of interpersonal connections for personal and professional growth.
Feedback was actively sought from participants, providing valuable insights for future workshops, and gauging the effectiveness of the current event.
The day concluded with a closing ceremony, acknowledging collective efforts, and allowing participants to reflect on the knowledge gained and connections established.

Day 3 of the workshop, which happens to be the final day unfolded with lively ice-breaking activities, fostering inclusivity and strong community bonds. These engaging exercises set the tone, underscoring the workshop’s overarching commitment to Sustainable Development Goal 11 – creating sustainable, inclusive, and resilient communities. Then participants were taken through an engaging presentation on actionable plans for inclusion, focusing on promoting social integration through tangible strategies. Participants gained insights into formulating and executing plans contributing to the workshop’s central goal of building inclusive communities.
The was another presentation which explored the role of building inclusive communities, offering practical strategies for applying inclusivity principles.
As the day ended, participants engaged in a reflective workshop evaluation, assessing the effectiveness of activities. The day culminated in a meaningful closing ceremony, where participants were awarded certifications, symbolizing their dedication to the workshop’s mission and their role in advancing the cause of SDG 11. This final celebration underscored the collective commitment to creating sustainable, inclusive, and resilient communities.
