Youth work – Leadership, coaching and community volunteering
The training in Tamale mainly focused on:
- Building youth leadership skills and general community awareness
- Soft skills and interpersonal skills, including communication and team building
- Entrepreneurial mindset and entrepreneurial skills, including leadership skills
- Community-based school engagement
- Community-assessment best practices in EU and Africa
The training focused on young people-driven organisation that work with/for vulnerable young people and children in marginalized areas in Africa & EU, and how young people can play a meaningful role in pursuing community development and volunteering in the society. Participants were trained on leadership skills, mentorship, public speaking, and coaching.
During the training, participants had the opportunity to get involved in community-based school engagement, while visiting some local schools in Ashaiman and having the opportunity to exchange and share best practices with local coaches and mentors.
